Fedellos TORPEDO 2024

Without a Designation of Origin (Valdeorras - Galicia) - 100% Brancellao grapes from small plots planted on granitic sandy soils with quartzite. The vines, between five and fifteen years old, produce exceptionally pure grapes that are vinified using hand-harvesting, pre-fermentation maceration, and whole-cluster alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures. After a long maceration of forty days, the wine ages for 12 months in used 500-liter French oak barrels.

The result is a wine with an Atlantic profile, characterized by tension, verticality, and finesse. Its color is light and transparent, avoiding any attempt at excessive concentration. On the nose, it displays a complex combination of fresh red fruits, wildflowers, delicate spices, aromatic herbs, and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it stands out for its extraordinary energy, with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and a sensation of lightness that coexists with remarkable depth. FEDELLOS TORPEDO 2024

Torpedo 2024 is the new wine from the Fedellos team, one of their most unique creations to date. Born in the Bibei Valley, this wine showcases the enormous potential of the Brancellao variety when crafted with freshness, precision, and respect for the vineyard. Sourced from small plots planted in granitic sandy soils with quartzite, this Galician red represents a modern and refined interpretation of one of the most interesting native varieties of the northwest Iberian Peninsula.

The vines, ranging in age from five to fifteen years, produce exceptionally pure grapes that are vinified using hand-harvesting, pre-fermentation maceration, and whole-cluster alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures. After a long maceration of forty days, the wine spends twelve months in used 500-liter French oak barrels, seeking to preserve the varietal identity and the expression of the landscape rather than letting the wood dominate.

The result is a wine with an Atlantic profile, marked by tension, verticality, and finesse. Its color is light and transparent, far removed from any attempt at excessive concentration. FOOD PAIRING

Ideal with poultry, pigeon, quail, artisanal charcuterie, cured meats, traditional Galician cuisine, mushrooms, mountain rice dishes, white meats, and semi-cured cheeses. Its fresh and delicate profile also makes it a good match for oily fish and dishes where structured red wines are not typically used.
