Bairrada is, near the Atlantic coast between Porto and Lisbon, adjoining the Dão region rural district. It is one of the rainiest parts of the country so that growers will have the same problems here to ripen the grapes and keep them safe from fungal diseases than their counterparts in Bordeaux.
