Peixe da Rocha 2016
Peixes is the new project of Carlos Bareño and Jesús Olivares (Fedellos do Couto) in the foothills of Alto Bibei, on the mountain between the Ribeira Sacra and Valdeorras. The winery is located in Seadur (Valdeorras). Currently they combine the work in Fedellos and in this small winery in Valdeorras. In the "Ourensan massif" as they call the place they work 3 Ha. The vineyard is made up of traditional varieties of the area such as Mouratón, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Grao Negro, Sousón and Godello, red and white mixed in the vines. In his first vintage he has made 3 wines, Peixes da Estrada, a mixture of all the red and white vines. Peixes da Rocha, which is an estate wine, where red and white mixed varieties are also found. The philosophy of viticulture is the same as for Fedellos do Couto, maximum respect in the field, they do not use chemicals and the intervention is the minimum possible. Peixe da Estrada 2016 ferments with its native yeasts and is aged in French oak barrels of various uses for 12 months. The result is a red with soul of white, intense in aromas, floral and very fresh in the mouth.
