Antídoto 2024 is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero, produced by Bodegas Antídoto in San Esteban de Gormaz, one of the coolest and highest-altitude areas of the Ribera del Duero region in Soria. The project is led by renowned French winemaker Bertrand Sourdais, known for his work in the recovery and enhancement of old, high-altitude vineyards. Made primarily with Tinto Fino grapes from old vines planted in sandy, clay, and pebbly soils, this wine accurately reflects the Atlantic and mineral character of the area. The harvest is done by hand, and the winemaking process combines tradition and winemaking precision to preserve the purity of the fruit and the identity of the vineyard. Aging in French oak barrels and foudres adds complexity and balance without masking the wine's natural freshness.
In the glass, it displays a bright cherry-red color with violet hues. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits stand out, accompanied by floral notes, mild spices, undergrowth, and subtle hints of toast and minerals. On the palate, it is elegant, fresh, and very well-balanced, with a silky texture, fine tannins, and vibrant acidity that provides length and liveliness. The finish is persistent and refined, leaving very pleasant fruity and spicy notes. It is a very versatile wine, ideal for pairing with grilled meats, roast lamb, Iberian cured meats, mushrooms, traditional stews, aged cheeses, and even robust Mediterranean dishes.
