D.O. Rias Baixas, Galicia, Spain - 95 PARKER. 100% Albariño. "The 2023 Castiñeiro Albariño has an explosive nose, perfumed, floral and fragrant, very clean, attractive and high-pitched. This comes from a 44-year-old vineyard in Aldea do Monte in Lois, and it fermented and matured in raw 375-liter white clay amphorae for six months. This is very different from the rest of the Albariños, even they consider it a rarity. It has a mellow palate with an ethereal feeling to it, with great purity, elegance and fine minerality. Carralcoba is more serious, whereas this is more jovial. 1,530 bottles produced". (Luis Gutierrez).
