D.O. Rías Baixas (Tea County Subzone), Spain - 89 PARKER. 55% Mencía with 40 years old vines, 35% Brancellao and 10% Espadeiro with 60 years old vines in granitic sandy soils. Fermentation with native yeasts in a concrete and foot troden in the traditional way. Destemming of 40% of the grapes, the rest was processed whole and with stem. Maceration of 7 days in the press for subsequent pressing and finish the fermentation in stainless steel tanks. 80% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrels and subsequent aging for twelve months. The barrels used have various uses and different sizes (225, 400 and 500 liters). The remaining 20% had no contact with the wood, remaining in stainless steel tanks until homogenization. Medium cherry colour. On the nose has moderate intensity with red fruit, spices (liquorice, pepper), floral and balsamic notes of the Atlantic forest. The palate has good breadth, it is tasty, fresh, salty with a very pleasant balance. Recommended by The Sommelier.
