Aalto 2023

Ref. T0102192Ñ

D.O. Ribera del Duero, Spain - 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), mostly from very old vines—ranging in age from 40 to 80 years—from vineyards in nine different municipalities in the Ribera region of Burgos and the Ribera region of Valladolid. The grapes are harvested by hand, in small 15-kilogram boxes that we meticulously inspect, bunch by bunch, on a sorting table. After the various production processes, Aalto ferments and ages for 17 months in new and semi-new French and American oak barrels. Aalto matures very well in the bottle and can be consumed within the next 15-20 years. Decanting is recommended for optimal enjoyment.

Aalto is a wine that enjoys great national and international acclaim, as corroborated by the various awards it has received and high scores in the most prestigious rankings.

AALTO 2023

Autumn began with high temperatures and a marked lack of rain. The first rainfall didn't arrive until late October, continuing throughout November. Temperatures remained mild until the end of that month, when the first frosts were recorded.

December brought several fronts with significant rainfall and a gradual drop in temperature. Although the beginning of winter was not particularly harsh, it ended up being cold and dry until late March, when temperatures began to rise. Spring was mild and practically dry, with frost in May and storms at the end of the month, which occasionally extended into June. Summer was characterized by intense drought and several heat waves. The grape harvest began in early September, with unstable weather and some rain during the harvest.
