D.O. Bierzo, Castilla y León - 100% Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) from a single very old vineyard on the edge of the Camino de Santiago in Villafranca del Bierzo. Clayey-calcareous soils facing south at 550 m. altitude. The first wine made by this new family winery. 2015 was a perfect year for this variety in El Bierzo. Spring and summer were very dry and hot, with hardly any rains that favored the cycle of this variety. It rained a lot, just because of the patron saint festivities of Cristo de la Esperanza so that when they harvested, ten days later, on September 25, the grapes were healthy and in perfect condition. The grapes were de-stemmed and fermented in a steel tank. He made malolactic and later aging in French oak barrels for almost a year. After a clarified and soft filtering, a total of 900 bottles were bottled in December 2016. Alcohol content: 12.5º
With an attractive dark color, intense garnet, characteristic of Garnacha Tintorera, with an aroma of black berries and a garden, it has a marked fruit character and, due to its low alcohol content, is an easy drink despite its complexity and delicacy. Ideal for snacks, fun and casual meals, with friends.
