CERRÓN WINERY LOS YESARES 2023
Cerrón Winery Los Yesares 2023 is one of the most unique single-vineyard wines from Cerrón Winery - Stratum Wines, a project that has established itself as one of the most interesting names in contemporary Spanish wine. From an exceptional area of Jumilla, this red wine stands out for its extraordinary minerality, depth, and a fine, precise structure.
The 2023 vintage was one of low yields, with a very dry autumn and winter, followed by a rainy and humid spring. These conditions resulted in wines with a refined, floral, and elegant profile. In the case of Los Yesares, the harvest took place 10 to 12 days after that of La Servil, with an approximate alcohol content of 14%.
In his review for The Wine Advocate, Luis Gutiérrez awarded Los Yesares 2023 96 points, highlighting its closed and austere character at this stage, as well as its extraordinary mineral and stony dimension. It is a serious, powerful, and very long wine, with a fine-bone structure and small-grained, calcareous tannins. Its mid-palate is deep and marked by the character of Mediterranean plants.
Aging lasted 18 months in large foudres and barrels, an evolution that, according to the critic, does not leave a marked oak influence, allowing the wine to retain the balance and expression of the vineyard. Los Yesares 2023 stands out for its balance, its tension, and a structure that gives it excellent potential for aging in the bottle.
Only 7,000 bottles of this vintage were produced, bottled in May 2025. It is a vibrant, saline, and deeply mineral red wine, conceived to express the unique character of its origin.
The Wine Advocate: 96 points — Luis Gutiérrez
A limited-production wine with great aging potential, ideal for those seeking single-vineyard reds, wines from old vines, and profound, mineral expressions of Mediterranean Monastrell.
