AOC. Cornas (Northern Rhône), France - 95 PARKER. 100% Syrah from a selection of plots located on the granitic slopes of Cornas, including Chaillot, Tézier, Le Bois, Les Saveaux, and Le Pigeonnier. The vines, cultivated using traditional methods and without synthetic chemicals, are grown according to a philosophy of absolute respect for the terroir and low yields.
The 2022 vintage was crafted by Théo Allemand following his father's long-standing philosophy: 100% whole cluster fermentation, two to three days of carbonic maceration, and manual punch-downs instead of pump-overs. Vinification is carried out without sulfites during fermentation and with minimal intervention to preserve the purity and clarity of the Syrah.
The wine is then aged for 18 to 24 months in used oak barrels and large oak foudres, without the use of new oak. This aging process preserves the wine's mineral and floral character, adding depth and refinement without masking the vineyard's distinctiveness. Recommended by The Sommelier.
