D.O. Montsant, Catalonia - 93 PARKER. 100% Garnacha Blanca. A very characteristic white wine from the Terroir Sense Fronteres wine project, created by Dominik Huber and Tatjana Peceric in the D.O. Montsant (Catalonia, Spain). This project seeks to express the freshness and minerality of the terroir without artifice or oak. The name Brisat comes from Catalan and means "skin-soaked," indicating that it is an orange wine made from Garnacha Blanca: the grapes ferment in contact with their skins for several days, contributing golden color, structure, and complexity to the wine. The 2023 vintage grapes come from vineyards planted between 300 and 350 meters above sea level in clay-sandy soils, with vines between 15 and 35 years old, cultivated using environmentally friendly practices and controlled yields. Fermentation takes place with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, without destemming. The wine then ages for approximately six months in these same tanks on its lees, without oak aging, which preserves its lively acidity, vibrant texture, and pronounced minerality on the palate. Production is limited to 9,700 bottles, resulting in a dry, fresh, and characterful white wine with aromas reminiscent of orange peel, herbal notes, and a chalky-saline minerality—typical of Montsant, interpreted through a modern and natural approach.
