AOC. Saint-Estèphe (Bordeaux), France - 71% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc from the same estate as the grand vin (Château Montrose), although from plots or lots that are not part of the final selection for the first wine, or from younger vines in the vineyard. Even so, the estate's rigorous standards and technical approach are maintained at every stage of the process.
The terroir is typical of this area: gravel soils with sand and some clay, very well-drained and ideal for Cabernet and Merlot, which contribute structure and freshness.
The vinification of La Dame de Montrose 2020 follows the same principles as the grand vin, although with a different selection of lots. After hand-harvesting, the grapes ferment separately in small vats to respect the identity of each plot, before the final blending. The wine typically ages for about 12 months in French oak barrels, of which around 30% are new.
