D.O. Monterrei, Galicia - 95 PARKER. A selection of old vines—Bastardo, Mencía, Zamarrica, Bastardo, and Caiño Redondo—from 25-year-old vines planted in three different soil types: sand, slate, and clay with a high iron content. Destemmed grapes ferment with their native yeasts in concrete. The wine was then aged in stainless steel tanks for six months and matured in foudres and a 500-liter barrel. 3,600 bottles were produced. Recommended by The Sommelier.
