Envínate BENJE BLANCO 2024

Ref. B0116005I

D.O. Ycoden-Daute-Isora, Tenerife - 95 PARKER. 100% Listán Blanco.

The 2024 Benje Blanco from Envínate is one of Tenerife's great volcanic white wines and a key reference point within the minimal intervention wine movement in the Canary Islands. It comes from the Ycoden-Daute-Isora region, where old Listán Blanco vines grow in very poor volcanic soils, which impart tension, salinity, and a distinct Atlantic character. This wine comes from the same plots as the Benje red, as these are field blends where white and red varieties coexist in the same environment. The white grapes are harvested approximately three weeks before the reds, aiming to preserve freshness and natural balance.

Since the 2023 vintage, aging under flor yeast has been discontinued due to rising temperatures, as this process has become too risky without the use of sulfites. Envínate has opted for a purer and more stable interpretation of the wine.

Benje Blanco 2024 presents a pale yellow color with golden highlights. On the nose, it is a serious and restrained wine, with notes of cereals, dried flowers, pollen, and a mealy background that adds complexity and character. On the palate, it reveals itself as a taut, stony, and very serious white wine, clearly exceeding its price range in terms of quality and definition, with a remarkable balance between restrained ripeness and freshness.

The analytical parameters reflect this precision with an alcohol content of less than 12% vol., a pH of 3.02, and a total acidity of 6.9 g/L, resulting in a wine of great freshness, restrained structure, and volcanic tension. The 2024 vintage confirms the project's upward trajectory, following a qualitative leap already evident in 2023, and raises the bar once again in terms of definition, purity, and precision of the volcanic profile. Approximately 18,500 bottles and 150 magnums were produced, with bottling taking place in July 2025.
