D.O. Jumilla, Murcia - Monastrell from different old vineyards, the youngest from 1967, all of them frank and dry land, in the town of Fuente-Álamo, planted with field blends, mostly Monastrell but with other varieties on calcareous soils of different texture, marl, sand and gravel. It ferments with 15% to 20% full clusters and native yeasts. It has a perfumed, floral and elegant nose, juicy and with a very elegant mouthfeel and very fine, clean and precise tannins, with chalky sensations and the freshness of red fruits, Mediterranean herbs and orange peel. It has a contained maturity and 14% alcohol, but they harvest with maturity, quite late. The wine has great balance, and the alcohol goes unnoticed. It has been aged for 12 months in two 5,000-litre oak foudres and 500-litre barrels. They produced 16,000 bottles. It was bottled in September 2024 and is accessible and expressive. (Luis Gutierrez).
